Why you should consider farmers markets- informative
I love
to get up early in the summer and catch the farmers market downtown for fresh
organically grown food. Considering the farmer gives the benefits of buying
fresh, nutritious, delicious and locally grown foods. Many people question why
they should shop at a farmer's market instead of buying organic produce from
the store. The reason, most stores cannot match farmers is the variety and quality of local foods, let alone guarantee farmers a fair
price. At the market the produce you find depends on what the farmers have
grown and the time of year. It's a source of pride to farmers and market
shoppers, like myself, that the produce available at farmers market
represent the agricultural of a that particular region or state. Don't be shy
around the market, try new foods you thought you would never have touched
before. Experiment at home by making a dish you never have before. A meal I
like to prepare after the market is 'Potato, Squash, and Goat Cheese
Gratin."
It
sounds simple and it is if you pay attention to what you're doing. You'll be
able to taste the difference between fresh market ingredients and boxed
preserved food from the market.

2 medium
yellow summer squash
·
4 small
to medium red potatoes

3 tablespoons olive
oil, plus more for the baking dish

·
1/4 cup whole
milk
·
1/3 cup freshly
grated Parmesan cheese
·
1 tablespoon thinly
sliced basil or thyme leaves
·
Bake in
an oven,
·
Arrange
a rack in the middle of the oven and heat to 400°F. Lightly grease a 1 1/2- to

Ingredients for delicious beef stew-- instructional
A stew is an assortment of foods cooked in liquid in a pot with a lid. Stews are usually made from several ingredients. As the name states, beef is the main ingredient in beef stew. Other ingredients I use are mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, onion, radish, and potato. I include spices such as pepper, lemon pepper, oregano, basil leaves, rosemary, and parsley. The amount of vegetables and beef used is your decision. Chicken broth is used with my stew but vegetable or beer broth can be used instead.
For beginners it's best to measure your ingredients:

For beginners it's best to measure your ingredients:
-
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1
tablespoon dried basil
- 1
tablespoon dried rosemary
- 1
tablespoon dried parsley
- 1
tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour (for thickness)
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
On a cutting board chop up your vegetables and add them together in the pot with the chicken broth while on the stove set to medium heat. Cut whole mushrooms in half, wedge the onion and potato, dice the radishes, then cut broccoli into bites. After some time add the spices. After ten to fifteen minuets,
On a separate pan on the stove cook the beef until rare them after the vegetable are soft, add the beef until fully cooked.
Choose a slices of bread on the side to accent the stew. Options I most favor are Sour dough, rye, and whole wheat.

This should be an easy and healthy meal with little effort involved. Enjoy!

About Nicholas Shirk
Hi my name's Nicholas Shirk and I’m a 23 year old college
business student at Illinois State University. I've taught myself to cook since
I was nine and in time gained a passion for home cooking and baking. I started
with simple meals like cooking eggs and baking cookies. Eventually I began to
make full course meals, desserts from a variety of cultures. I particularly
like to prepare Mexican and Italian style food, but I always like the simple
meals anyone can handle. I was the kid who took home economics for three years
in high school. Making my own food has always stuck with me and I enjoy when
others begin to learn on their own too. Making food is a lot easier than it
seems, and once you learn how to do it your life with improve and you’ll find
you save money from eating at restaurants too often. I enjoy creating healthy
meals, but that doesn’t stop me from greasy junk food either. I’m here to tell
you about it all. I will provide
personal and credible resources of knowledge to beginners learning to cook and
bake at home, whether be for yourself, family, or to just show off. My Cooking
and baking assistance will come from my own experience and professional web
links, blogs, and videos, Step-by-step instructions, and how-to books. Delicious
home style cooking and meal preparation from breakfast to desert and everything
in between will be at your convenience of a computer mouse.
